Photography

This professional program in photography is a multidisciplinary one that targets both professional and amateur applicants. It offers concentrated study in the photographic arts. It focuses on creativity and technical abilities. As students pursue a variety of photography courses, they work on improving their abilities to observe and find innovative solutions, and express individual creativity; thus, successively developing their solid skills, and honing their understanding of the aesthetic and technical processes that are essential to the field of Photography. The courses offered provide the latest techniques in digital photography in the fields of Arts, Communication, Architecture and Fashion.

PHOTO410
Introduction to Colored & Studio Workshop
This course will introduce students to studio lighting and cover all its techniques, in addition to studying color theories in Photography through color printing and development. Students will also experiment with different techniques of printing with various assignments given.
Prerequisite: ART 215 & COM 215
PHOTO420
Photojournalism
This course will teach the students the basic principles and practices of photojournalism through working on newspapers, magazines, and journals. The production of theme study photos will be applied in a variety of projects.

Photography for Architecture
Students will learn how to deal with indoor and outdoor architecture considering natural and artificial lighting. They will be exploring composition in terms of space, angles, and lines. All aspects of perspective photography will be covered through project application.

PHOTO450
Portrait and Fashion Photography
This course will teach students techniques in Portrait Shooting such as: Natural Portrait, Studio Portrait, Classical Portraits, Beauty Shots, Indoor Fashion, and Outdoor Fashion. All given assignments will be produced using photo retouching.

PHOTO460
Fine Arts photography
This course is the thesis of photography whereby the students will present a subject of choice through the preparation of a personal exhibit and a portfolio within the technical and aesthetic perspectives learnt throughout the entire photography certificate program.
