The vision of the Faculty of Engineering at AUST is to attract highly motivated students, passionate and dynamic faculty, and to welcome staff to its state-of-the-art programs that are compatible with the requirements of the twenty-first century. The outcome of this vision is reflected in graduates who are independent thinkers and problem solvers and who will actively contribute and serve the local and global communities.
The mission of the Faculty of Engineering at AUST is to supply society with well-educated graduates who can fulfill the needs of the country and the regional development plans in the areas of engineering, science, and technology. These graduates should be able to face the challenges of the twenty-first century, and to respond to the region's great ambitions and high expectations. Hence, keeping up with latest international trends and methodologies of engineering and science education is one of the strategic goals of the faculty.
To implement its mission, the Faculty makes use of modern education technologies; develops students’ communication skills and their ability to work in teams; encourages the students to achieve a high level of proficiency in the English language; conducts effective industrial and practical training programs; and, enhances the student’s practical design and implementation skills.
The Faculty considers scientific and applied research to be an important strategic part of its mission; it furnishes all possible resources to fulfill this task. Hence, with the proper technical and administrative support, it has designed a comprehensive strategic plan to conduct research and development programs through intramural or scientific cooperation with local and overseas academic institutions and research organizations.
