The American University of Science and Technology (AUST) and the Consultation and Research Institute (CRI) of Lebanon held a seminar on Minister Sejaan Azzi’s book entitled “Homeland under Permanent Care”; Mrs. Hiam Sakr, President of AUST, Minister of Education Marwan Hamadeh, former Minister of Information, Ramzi Jreij, and former Minister of Social Affairs, Rashid Derbas shared in this seminar. The writer Minister Azzi concluded the seminar by a word on the theme and objective of his book.
Present were the former President of Lebanon, Michel Sleiman; former Prime Minister, Tammam Salam; former Deputy Prime Minister, Samir Mouqbel; Deputies Boutros Harb, Nadim Gemayel, and Nadim de Freige; former Ministers Charles Rizk, Khalil Hraoui, Edmond Rizk, Mohamed el Machnouk, Roger Dib, Ibrahim Chamseddine, Naji Boustany, Joseph el Hashem, Karim Pakradouni, Rony Araiji and Chakib Kortbawi; former Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces, Jean Kahwaji; Dean of the Honorary Consular Corps in Lebanon, Joseph Habis; former Head of the Socio-Economic Council, Roger Nisnas; and, a number of Arab and foreign ambassadors and political, union, social, media and academic figures.
After standing to the Lebanese Anthem, Media and PR Director at AUST, Ms. Majida Dagher moderated the seminar; the first word was given by President Hiam Sakr, and was followed by those of Ministers Hamadeh, Jreij, Derbas, and Azzi.
Copies of the book were distributed to all attendees, who were treated to a cocktail, during which they socialized and exchanged ideas.
