Withdrawal from the University and Readmission

    Currently enrolled students who intend to withdraw from the University during a semester or a summer session must fill out the proper form available at the Registrars’ Office, and secure the approval and signatures of their academic advisors and the dean of the concerned faculty.

    Students in good standing who withdraw from the University during a semester or a summer session for a period of less than one year, and who wish to return, shall be granted automatic readmission to their former school, class and major, provided they submit a readmission request to the Admissions Office a month prior to the beginning of a semester or a summer session.

    Students who are on probation and who withdraw from the University during a semester or a summer session for a period of less than one year, and who wish to return, shall be granted automatic readmission to their former school, class, and major provided they submit a readmission request to the Admissions Office a month prior to the beginning of a semester or a summer session. If the request is approved, the student will be readmitted on probation.

    A student who absents herself / himself from all classes for three weeks of lectures during a semester (one week during a summer session) for whatever reason will be considered by the Administration as having withdrawn from the University. In such cases, the student’s parents or guardians are notified.

    Note: Students who withdraw from the University may return to it within a period of four (4) semesters from the time of withdrawal, without filling out a new application form.


    Readmission of Suspended Students

    Suspended students may fill out an application for readmission to be studied by the Admissions Council, provided that they have completed a minimum of one semester as full-time students at a recognized institution of higher learning, and have received a minimum of 2.20 GPA in at least 12-credit hours, or have worked for one year and obtained positive recommendations from their employers.

     

    Readmitted students may be granted transfer credits for the courses in which they have obtained a minimum grade of 70% (C), provided that such courses are considered by the academic unit concerned equivalent to courses taught at AUST.
